Korlok features 6.5mm thick, 1420mm x 225mm (56″ x 9″) planks with K-Core technology, a 5G locking mechanism and a specially formulated acoustic backing.Korlok benefits from being easy to install over most existing hard floors, fitting over imperfect subfloors, and the pre-attached acoustic backing means there is no need for a separate underlay. With excellent acoustic properties, Korlok reduces noise transfer to rooms below making it ideal for upstairs bedrooms, loft conversions and playrooms.
With these added benefits, alongside the intricate designs and durability you would come to expect from Karndean floor, Korlok is the perfect choice for a variety of installations.
We’re introducing our first rigid core collection, Korlok, with enhanced acoustic benefits.
Rigid core is the latest click locking floating floor, which is an ideal alternative to laminate and engineered hardwood click floors as it offers the same benefits of realistic wood look designs and hiding subfloor imperfections, but with the durability and waterproof qualities of luxury vinyl.
With 12 new authentic wood designs (1420mm x 225mm) inspired by European and North American woods, Korlok can reduce noise transfer to rooms below up to 19dB, without the need for separate underlay. Ideal for a busy playroom, home office, bedroom or loft conversion.
Korlok can be installed over most existing hard surface floors or uneven subfloors without the worry of exposing any imperfections underfoot, thanks to our innovative K-Core technology. It also features a superior 5G vertical click locking mechanism and pre-attached acoustic foam backing for quick and easy installation.
Our familiar click-locking system and enhanced core technology means homeowners can achieve an authentic and luxurious floor in any space with minimal subfloor preparation, meaning less upheaval and disruption to everyday life.
From the Danish inspired Baltic Washed Oak with its light grey undertones to the characterful Antique French Oak with its historical markings, there are six oak designs to choose from in the collection, all suitable for contemporary, classic and traditional interiors.
Tapping into the trend for Scandinavian inspired interiors, Korlok also features three ash designs – Warm, Washed Grey and Texas White – and one pine – Washed Swiss Pine – all boosting elegance and style.
For a moody and impactful floor, American Black Walnut and Smoked Butternut are both sophisticated hues with a mix of straight and flowery grain patterns for opulence.
Quieter than traditional laminate and warmer underfoot than real wood, Korlok is waterproof, easy to clean and maintain, and compatible with underfloor heating. Available from May, Korlok offers a lifetime residential guarantee.
HERE ABOUT PEOPLES VIEWS AND EXPERIENCES WITH KORLOK
As a busy Mum to two sets of twins, I look forward to the evening when I get to kiss four little boys goodnight and I can grab a small slice of the day for myself. The younger twins are one year old and, given that we want to encourage them to sleep through until the morning, we decided to give their nursery a bit of a makeover to ensure that it’s a nice place to be!
We put star shaped stickers on the wall and swapped the rather uninspiring carpet that came with the house for the gorgeous Antique French Oak from Karndean’s Korlok range. We wanted minimal disruption to the babies’ routine while we re-vamped their room so the quick and easy to install Korlok was the perfect choice. Tailored Flooring arrived before the school run and by the time I returned they had nearly finished!
The acoustic foam backing on Korlok makes it quiet underfoot and reduces noise transfer to rooms below, so we can still work in the home office beneath the nursery undisturbed by toys and teddies being flung out of the cots above. It also means that even if the babies cry a little on waking, the room has no more of an echo than when there was carpet, so I stand the same chance of being able to collect and cuddle a disgruntled twin before he wakes his brother!
As Korlok is really easy to clean, it’s a great low maintenance choice for those who don’t have much time to spare; milk spills are gone in an instant with a quick wipe and the occasional messy nappy change can be sorted with no hassle.
My babies love the way their walkers glide on the new floor, and I love the beautiful handcrafted design.
The subtle texture and attention to detail on the floor is so realistic I forget it isn’t real wood, and when I spend time in the nursery on my up-cycled nursing chair I can almost imagine that I am in a French Chateau!
