TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR THE INSTALATION AND MAINTAINANCE OF YOUR NEW FLOORING
It is agreed that you have accepted the following terms and conditions upon placement of an order or acceptance of any quotation from Essex Carpets and Design Floors Ltd.
It is agreed that by accepting this order or quotation we will commence work with immediate effect and you will be liable for any reasonable cancellation charges should you cancel this order – invoice.
The customer must, prior to fitting, make known to the floor layers of Essex Carpets and Design Floors Ltd, the position of all pipes, wires and cables, (including UHF) which could be affected by any installation flooring works. If require Gripper and door trims can be affixed with adhesive to the sub-floor, this will be an extra cost unless included in the original quotation.
Furniture and existing floorcoverings. All furniture should be removed from the work area prior to our attendance. Existing floorcoverings should be removed and disposed of prior to our attendance.Ifthis is not practical, these services can be provided by Essex Carpets and Design Floors Ltd. Please ask for details of the costs. Please Note: When moving Furniture Etc. We cannot unplug or disconnect or reconnect any, electrical appliances, gas or water supplies. No Liability will be accepted for any appliances that have stopped working after being moved.
Floor Preparation. All floors will have a manufactures recommended primer applied prior to latexing.Latex screeding of sub-floors are for smoothing purposes only and to provide a clean and sound surface to receive new flooring. The application is for a 3mm covering that will follow the contours of the sub-floor. Floor levelling can be provided at an extra cost upon request.
Moisture. If moisture or damp is found to be present in your sub-floor during our survey or when removing the existing flooring, it may be necessary to install a liquid DPM. We will advise you of the cost of this prior to any works being progressed. Please note we will not install LVT flooring over damp floors as this will invalidate any guarantee and will likely cause further problems with the flooring.
Shading. All cut pile carpets are subject to shading. This will appear in traffic areas due to the yarn slanting at different angles to the unused areas. The affect can create a slight difference in colour and is more apparent in plain carpets with longer pile. This is not a manufacturing fault.
Widths. All carpet roll width is permitted a legal tolerance of plus or minus 20mm per metre.
Storage. Flooring can be stored for an indefinite period, providing full payment of the invoice is remitted one month from the invoice date. Storage charges will apply after 3 months and will require settlement prior to the release of materials.
Maintenance. All floorcoverings will benefit from regular vacuuming and/or mopping with a suitable cleaning product. Spills should be blotted with kitchen roll and cleaned immediately to avoid possible staining. We provide a range of cleaning and maintenance packs for new LVT flooring, these can be purchased from our stores.
Product Guarantees
We are responsible for ensuring that the goods we supply are of satisfactory quality, conform to the sample and are fit for the purpose for which they are sold. Certain products have additional guarantees provided by us or the manufacturer. Where they are provided by the manufacturer, we accept no responsibility for these additional warranties or guarantees. All manufacturers’ wear guarantees do not relate to the appearance of the product but are specifically in relation to being ‘threadbare’. The appearance of your flooring may deteriorate or vary depending upon your usage, demands and aftercare. Any damage which has occurred due to negligence, malice, removal, fire, water damage and similar events will void the warranty. Similarly, damage or marks which have appeared following the use of an unsuitable chemical product or improper cleaning method, are not covered by the warranty.
Fitting Times. We cannot give any timed appointments for flooring installations, AM or PM can be advised as a guide only. 48 hours’ notice is required to cancel a fitting appointment, otherwise a charge may be incurred.
Doors and Kickboards. We will where necessary, remove kitchen cupboard kickboards and room doors to facilitate the installation of flooring. It is the customers responsibility to trim and reinstate them. Essex Carpets and Design Floors Ltd will not be held liable for any damage arising from the removal of said doors and kickboards.
Passing of property and reservation of title. The title of all goods supplied by Essex Carpets and Design Floors Ltd shall remain vested in the company until the full purchase price of the goods and all other monies owing to Essex Carpets and Design Floors Ltd have been paid in full by the customer.
Delivery Dates. All delivery and installation dates are given in good faith at the time of issue. These dates may be subject to change from causes arising from circumstances beyond the control of Essex Carpets and Design Floors Ltd.
Payments. We require 50% deposit on placement of your order. The balance will be due once we have received the product and contacted you to arrange an installation date. Vat is included to all materials and labour at the standard rate, when placing the order. Deposits are not refundable once goods have been dispatched from our suppliers.
After Sales Care. Domestic carpets may require re-stretching after they have installed, this service is free for the first 12 months from the installation date. We provide a range of cleaning and maintenance packs for new LVT flooring, these can be purchased from our stores.
Customer Satisfaction. Whist we strive to satisfy the demands of all our customers, occasionally things my arise that result in unforeseen problems. I such an event we would require you to register within 14 days from completion of the installation any grievance or fault that may have occurred with the product supplied or installation thereof. We would ask you to accompany this with any photographic evidence that you might have. We will then contact you to arrange for a visit from one of our experts to view and discuss a solution, and where necessary rectify the problem.
